A brief look at DNJournal's most recent Top 20, shows it was a strong week for late July / early August.
Server.com which sold for $770,000 is parked at GoDaddy. Jesus.net which sold for $124,000, is a landing entry page for JesusInternetProject.com.
iGuide.com re-directs to OVguide.com. The owner paid $100,000 for that name.
OMG.com which was purchased by Yahoo for $80,000 (who recently sold Contests.com), will be using that name for their Celebrity Gossip site - but the name doesn't resolve even though the name is in Yahoo's ownership.
Enlargement.com which was acquired for $56,000, is up and running as a website. You can guess what the site is for.
Here's a look at some more names on the Top 20 list:
OnlineEducation.org - parked NextOnline.de - redirects to NextDirect.com OfficeShoes.com - parked at Sedo Cloud.me - parked at Sedo 118000.com - undeveloped website
The best deal on the Top 20 list by far, is WeightTraining.com for $18K acquired by Domain Superstar. With a category killer name, they could enjoy some great success by developing a website.
BodyBuilding.com is a great case study in this niche - that website gets over 1 million visitors per month. WeightTraining.com is currently parked, but hopefully they have some big plans.
If you know about the BodyBuilding.com story, the owner Ryan Deluca got started on the internet in the nineties, and had a vision for the name even before he owned it. He has turned that name and website into one of the most successful websites on the internet.
